Physician/Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Kimberly Frank is a psychiatrist with two decades of experience in the field. After earning her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1990, she worked in the psychiatric emergency room at Douglas County Hospital for two years. Dr. Frank went on to complete a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry through the Creighton-University of Nebraska Department of Psychiatry. In 1995, she accepted a position in North Carolina. Dr. Kimberly Frank served as an Adolescent Inpatient Team Director at the Center for Mental Health in Charlotte, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
In 1997, Dr. Frank returned to Wisconsin, where she worked as a child, adolescent, and adult outpatient psychiatrist within the Charter Behavioral Health System. In 2000, she began working for Aurora Behavioral Health System and in 2005, she began working for Adoption Resources of Wisconsin. Still practicing as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in Milwaukee, Dr. Kimberly Frank uses an integrated biopsychosocial approach to care for patients. She works with patients, their families, and school systems to develop appropriate treatment plans for a range of psychiatric disorders.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Kimberly Hammes Frank is involved in the efforts of Franciscan Peacemakers, an organization that provides food to individuals in need. Dr. Frank has volunteered her time in the local school system, where she taught art history and gave presentations on body image to elementary students.
